A Somerset Township man was killed this morning in a vehicle crash in Ligonier, authorities said.
The crash was reported about 6:10 a.m. on Route 30, about a quarter-mile west of Laurel Summit Road, near the Somerset County line.
Thomas Nestor, 52, was killed after his vehicle went slightly off the north shoulder of Route 30, back into the correct lane, then crossed the center lane, according to a press release from the Westmoreland County coroner's office.
His vehicle hit the passenger side of another vehicle going east. County dispatchers said a second person was injured.
Mr. Nestor, who was wearing a seat belt and was the only person inside the vehicle, died at the scene. He died of multiple blunt force trauma, and the death was accidental, the Westmoreland County coroner's office said.
