Three people were injured in a collision on the eastbound Pennsylvania Turnpike in Penn Township at 3:10 p.m., with one car rolled over onto its roof and at least person being taken by emergency helicopter to an area hospital, according to Pennsylvania State Police in Gibsonia.

The number of vehicles involved and the extent of the other victims' injuries are not known at the moment, state police said.

The turnpike's left lane is still open and traffic is able to pass the accident slowly, but the partially blocked roadway has created a six-mile backlog and motorists should expect delays, police said.
