A consensus reached today between the Cornell School District and education association provides a four-year teacher’s contract through the 2018 school year.
Terms of the agreement include a collective salary increase of 4.4 percent over the life of the contract and a longer school day resulting in more instructional time.
“The process reaching an agreement was professional and collaborative and all decisions and agreements were made with the best interest of our school district in mind,” said superintendent Aaron Thomas.
Teachers reported for duty on Tuesday, while district students begin the year on Tuesday.
