Robinson commissioners approved a preliminary site plan and several building waivers for a planned township housing development.

The board approved the site plan in a 4-0 vote. Commissioner Ronald Shiwarski was absent.

The Arbor Trail housing plan will include a first phase of 59 townhomes, followed by 30 single-family houses in a second construction phase. The development site is located on Aiken Road near Moon Run Road.

Frank Zappala, vice president of development firm First City Co., said phase one of Arbor Trail is expected to break ground in mid-October with construction following in July 2015.

Ryan Homes will construct the housing plan. Arbor Trail townhomes will range in price from $190,000 to $200,000, Mr. Zappala said.

“It’s becoming a fad with these mixed developments,” said Rick Urbano, chairman of the township planning commission. “The location is perfectly suited for this.”
