An Ambridge man fired last year after an inmate‘‍s money disappeared at the Beaver County Jail sued the county Friday, alleging violations of his free speech and due process rights.

Thomas Fouse, 38, of Ambridge, contended in the complaint in U.S. District Court that he did not take the unnamed inmate's $2,800. He was fired in the wake of an investigation into the missing money, but was never charged criminally.

Two other jail employees also were fired in relation to the lost money.

In the lawsuit filed by attorney Gianni Floro, Mr. Fouse demanded money to make up for the "ongoing emotional, mental and physical attack" on him.

The county solicitor said the lawsuit had not yet been served on his office, so he could not comment.
