Officials in Beaver County are trying to identify what appear to be human remains discovered Wednesday in Hopewell.

County Coroner Teri Tatalovich-Rossi said passers-by found the remains, consisting of bones and some clothing, shortly before 6 p.m. on a steep hillside in a wooded area of the township near Bocktown Road.

Township police, who were not immediately available this morning, are leading the investigation with help from the Beaver County District Attorney's Office.
