The Quaker Valley School District and Sewickley police are investigating after students from Osborne Elementary found a closed pocket knife on a school bus Tuesday afternoon.

A parent called the school to report the discovery, and the knife was delivered to the school principal, according to a letter from Superintendent Joseph H. Clapper. Officials called Sewickley police to help in the investigation,

The district is examining rosters of bus riders and reminds parents that it is against district policy for students to take such an item to school.
