Findlay to hold public hearing on gas drilling at Pittsburgh International Airport

Findlay is set to consider the plan for Marcellus Shale natural gas drilling around Pittsburgh International Airport.

A public hearing will be held 7 p.m. Feb. 20 in the Findlay Township Activity Center, 310 Main St., Imperial.

Hundreds of nearby property owners in Findlay and Moon have been notified of the hearing, township planning director Chris Caruso said tonight.

Consol Energy Inc., under a $500 million deal with Allegheny County, proposes to drill 47 gas wells, construct 17 miles of gas collection lines and install 12 miles of water lines on more than 9,000 acres.
