A school bus carrying 11 children from the Chartiers Valley School District collided with a car in Scott this morning, but there don’t appear to be any serious injuries.
The crash occurred near the intersection of Ryan and Cherrydell drives about 10:40 a.m., according to an Allegheny County emergency dispatch supervisor.
The school district operated on a two-hour delay this morning because of the cold and the bus was taking children to the Chartiers Valley Intermediate School.
Nicholas Morelli, director of operations for the school district, said early indications are that the bus drove down Cherrydell Drive and attempted to make a left-hand turn when it collided with a car driving on Ryan Drive. The left bumper of the bus hit the driver’s side door of the car, he said.
“All indications right now -- everybody’s fine,” said Mr. Morelli. “Nobody needs to be transported to the hospital.”
Medics were evaluating everyone involved as a precaution.
