A man awaiting trial on attempted homicide and related crimes is scheduled to be arraigned today on new charges that he assaulted a woman Friday in McKees Rocks.
Allegheny County sheriff's deputies took Joel Adcock, 32, into custody Monday at an apartment building in Mount Oliver. He was on pretrial house arrest stemming from a March 2013 incident, in which he's accused of assaulting his female neighbor, choking her and threatening to kill her, Lt. Jack Kearney said in a news release.
A woman called 911 on Friday from a home in 1600 block of Poplar Street in McKees Rocks. She told police that Adcock had assaulted her because he was upset that she'd confronted him after he screamed at her child, Lt. Kearney said. He then choked her and threw her down on the ground, she told police.
Sheriff’s deputies started looking for Mr. Adcock on Monday after a bench warrant was issued for violation of his bond conditions.
While searching that building, deputies also found Daniel Goscinski, 37, hiding in basement closet.
Mr. Goscinski, who was not associated with Mr. Adcock and hid when he heard deputies knocking on the door, was wanted for escaping from Renewal Inc. last month, where he was serving a sentence for receiving stolen property, Lt. Kearney said. He was visiting another tenant in the building Monday.
