Pittsburgh, western suburbs affected by morning snow

A quick snow is moving east across the Pittsburgh region this morning and could affect early commutes in some areas, according to the National Weather Service, which issued a special weather statement.

Western Allegheny, Beaver and North Central Washington counties could see reduced visibility, but possible accumulation is predicted only on grassy or elevated surfaces.

Meteorologists with the weather service in Pittsburgh, based in Moon, said the snow is expected to clear Allegheny County by around 9 a.m.

Shippingport, Darlington, Aliquippa, Beaver Falls, Economy, Burgettstown,

Sewickley and Moon are among the places that could be affected.
