A 67-year-old cement truck driver from New Castle was killed Monday afternoon in a crash in Big Beaver Borough, authorities said.

State Police said the loaded 2007 Sterling truck lost control during a left turn onto Interstate 376 from Wallace Run Road at about 1:47 p.m.

The truck rolled onto its side, struck a guardrail and rolled over an embankment, police said.

The driver, Wallace A. Brown, was pronounced dead at the scene of blunt force trauma and compression to the chest, Beaver County Coroner Teri Tatalovich-Rossi said.

No other vehicles were involved in the crash, police said.

State Police said it was unknown whether Mr. Brown was wearing a seat belt.
