Police believe a woman thought her vehicle was in reverse when she smashed through the wall of the DSW shoe store in Robinson Sunday afternoon.

Two people were injured in the mishap.

Laverne Dean, 67, of the North Hills, drove her vehicle 30 feet into the storefront about 3:15 p.m. Sunday, injuring March Young, 52, of Moon, and her son, Rayquin, 13.

"She thought she was in reverse before she tried to leave the parking lot," said Robinson police Chief Dale Vietmeier.

"I assumed that she panicked when she realized she was in drive."

The mother and son were taken to Allegheny General Hospital and were treated for non-life-threatening injuries, Chief Vietmeier said.

The driver was not transported to the hospital. No charges have been filed.
