The Southwestern Pennsylvania Long Term Recovery Task Force is offering assistance to homeowners whose dwellings have been damaged by flash flooding.

Volunteers are being summoned to assist with mucking and decontaminating basements, deconstruction of water-damaged materials and some reconstruction projects. Limited resources may be available to assist with the replacement of electrical boxes, water heaters and furnaces.

Resurrection Lutheran Church, 7600 Steubenville Pike, North Fayette, has been designated as a volunteer deployment site. Individuals or groups willing to volunteer time and expertise should contact the center, 412-788-4513.

Individuals who have sustained damage to their residence should call 2-1-1, the regional, community 24-hour hot line to request assistance. If the 211 line is not available, individuals should call 888-553-5778.

Volunteer assistance or any reconstruction or replacement equipment is available only for homeowners.
