State police have identified the woman who died in a two-car crash late Tuesday in Beaver County.

Renina J. Newton, 25, of Aliquippa, died in the crash on westbound Interstate 376 in Hopewell shortly before 11 p.m. Four others, including two children, were injured.

Police said Frank J. Malone, 65, of Aliquippa was driving a 2010 Honda CR-V at a high speed when he attempted to change lanes and struck the rear of the 2003 Dodge Durango in which Ms. Newton was riding, causing it to roll over twice, jump the guardrail and tumble down an embankment before hitting a tree.

Mr. Malone and the driver of the other vehicle, Stenzelle Ruth, 32, of Aliquippa, were taken to Heritage Valley Medical Center with unspecified injuries. Two unidentified boys, ages 5 and 8, who were riding in Mr. Ruth's car, were transported to Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh of UPMC.

Beaver County coroner Teri Tatalovich-Rossi said Ms. Newton died of blunt force trauma to the head. The manner of death is pending. Police said Ms. Newton was wearing a seat belt.

Mr. Malone was charged with a traffic violation pending further investigation.

The westbound side was closed for several hours at Exit 48, Route 151, south of Aliquippa. It reopened shortly after 7 a.m. today.
