A break in a 6-inch water pipe in Carnegie disrupted service to Pennsylvania American Water customers this morning, a company spokesman said.
The pipe delivering water to homes in Carnegie ruptured at about 2:45 a.m. today, Pennsylvania American external affairs manager Gary Lobaugh said.
Carnegie police Chief Jeffrey Harbin said the water main break occurred at the intersection of Fifth Street and Diamond Alley, causing flooding on the roadway. The street was temporarily shut down until the flooding cleared up.
About a dozen Pennsylvania American Water customers are still without water at 10 a.m., but services are expected to be restored early this afternoon, Mr. Lobaugh said.
Chief Harbin said at least one home received basement flooding as a result of the water main break.mobilehome - breaking - neigh_west
