A decorated professional firefighter from Michigan is jailed in that state on a warrant charging him with raping a woman in Western Pennsylvania last month.

Beaver County District Attorney Anthony Berosh said Lee Finlayson, 50, of Rockford, Mich. will be extradited to Pennsylvania from Kent County, Mich. where he's been jailed since his arrest Thursday night on the warrant filed by police in Brighton.

Online court records don't list an attorney for Mr. Finlayson, who is accused of raping the woman in her Brighton home Sept. 22.

Mr. Finlayson is a lieutenant in the Grand Rapids Fire Department where he was recognized as its firefighter of the year last year.

Gerard Salatka, Grand Rapids deputy fire chief, said the charges against Finlayson are a "private matter" involving Pennsylvania authorities.
