Clinton Road is set to close to all traffic at 7 a.m. Monday at its intersection with Route 30 in Findlay, causing detours through mid-October.

Vehicles normally traveling the road between Route 30 and Interstate 376 -- the highway near Pittsburgh International Airport -- will have to use alternate routes, the state Department of Transportation announced today.

The posted detour will guide motorists east on Route 30 to the Route 22/30 eastbound ramp in Imperial, and then to westbound Interstate 376 (Parkway West). The Clinton exit will be open and allow access to Clinton Commerce Park and other businesses and homes located on Clinton Road between the parkway and Route 30.

Route 30 will remain open with occasional traffic delays, according to Findlay officials.

The $454,585 project by contractor Lane Construction Corp. involves widening Clinton Road and adding a turning lane onto Route 30. The work is expected to improve sight distance and the turning radius for large trucks.

About 7,429 vehicles use Clinton Road on an average day, according to PennDOT.
