Three people were hurt, two seriously, in a one-car accident Saturday evening in North Fayette.

State police said Ruchelle M. Walker, 19, of Weirton, W.Va., lost control of her Honda Civic on a rain-slicked Route 22. Police noted she was traveling too fast for conditions.

Two passengers in the car were injured, as was Ms. Walker. They are Sarah N. Kolar, 22, of Weirton, and Jonathan R. Beatty, 22, of Weirton. Police described Ms. Kolar's injures as "major" and Mr. Beatty's as "minor."

The accident occurred as Ms. Walker was eastbound, hit the berm of the road, crashed into an embankment, then rolled over.

They were taken to UPMC Mercy where Ms. Walker was described by police as being in critical condition while Ms. Kolar was listed by police in serious condition. Mr. Beatty was treated then released.

The accident happened at 7:16 p.m.
