A truck driver was killed in a crash around 1 p.m. today on Route 88 in Greene County, state police in Waynesburg said.

The Peterbilt water tank truck was traveling south about a half-mile north of Clarksville Road in Jefferson Township when the driver lost control, state police said. It rolled onto its driver's side and hit the front end of a northbound Nissan Xterra. The truck then rolled over a hillside onto a garage, state police said.

The driver of the truck, who police have not identified, was killed.

Rachael Kelly of California, Pa., the Xterra's driver, was taken by medical helicopter to Allegheny General Hospital with moderate injuries, state police said.
