Five companies of firefighters from Cecil and neighboring departments battled a blaze that started this afternoon at an auto-repair shop in Hendersonville.

Chief William Cass of Company 28, Cecil Volunteer Fire Department No. 1, said the fire at Klements Auto Service, 712 Morganza Road, was reported at about 2:40 p.m.

"It was fully involved when we got there," Chief Cass said. "We managed to put it out and save half the building."

The cause of the fire has not yet been determined and the state fire marshal's office has been contacted.

There were no reported injuries.
