A boy was injured when he was mauled by a group of dogs Wednesday night in Washington County.

KDKA-TV reported the boy, whose name was not released, may have opened the door to a friend's house he was visiting when the dogs came out and attacked him in the front yard shortly after 6 p.m.

Donora police Patrolman Williams Dennison told the news station he had to use pepper spray to disperse the dogs. Neighbors also tried to help.

Donora police weren't immediately available this morning.
