A 92-year-old woman drove into a country club creek while attempting to park her car this morning in Peters.

After arriving at Valley Brook Country Club just before 10 a.m., Mary David stepped on the gas pedal of her vehicle before the car was in park -- sending it down a 150-foot embankment and into Chartiers Creek, Peters police Chief Harry Fruecht said.

Ms. David was removed from the car by a Peters Fire Department crew and placed onto a rescue blanket, a device similar to a floating raft.

She reported no injuries, but was transported to St. Clair Hospital for evaluation.
