Valley Brook Road at Route 19 in Peters reopened Thursday after a $4.9 million, 15-month project to reconstruct and realign the intersection.
The Peters Township Chamber of Commerce held a ribbon-cutting to mark the reopening. The project rebuilt the dilapidated ramp from westbound Valley Brook Road to Route 19, creating two left-turn lanes. It also realigned Old Washington Road to connect to the intersection.
Brian Schill, executive director of the chamber of commerce, said business owners and residents were relieved to see the end of the project, which began in May 2013. “All kinds of businesses on Valley Brook Road have suffered because of this,” he said.
