Firefighters were called to the scene of a two-alarm fire at 11:15 this morning at a private residence at 7110 Baptist Road in Bethel Park. There was no one home at the time and the fire was contained to an upstairs bedroom.

According to 2nd Capt. Rob Uselman of the Bethel Park Volunteer Fire Co., there were initial reports of someone inside the burning home before firefighters confirmed that it was empty.

It took about 20 minutes to put out the fire and one firefighter was treated for heat exhaustion as a precaution, said Capt. Uselman. There is no word yet on how the fire started.
