Third Street-Carothers Ave. bridge to close in Carnegie

The bridge carrying Third Street and Carothers Avenue over Chartiers Creek in Carnegie and Scott will close todaywed for a $1.5 million rehabilitation, Allegheny County announced.

The closure was scheduled for 7 a.m. and was expected to continue until December, with traffic detoured via Route 50-Washington Avenue and Main Street. The span will remain open to pedestrians.
