Motorists who use Route 19 in Peters will soon see delays as work wraps up on a project to rebuild the intersection of Valleybrook Road.

The contractor working on the $4.9 million project, slated to be completed by the end of summer, has informed township officials that there will be closures of one lane of Route 19 north for about 30 days, starting June 9.

Southbound traffic on Route 19 will periodically be shifted and narrowed to a single lane as needed, said company representatives from Gulisek Construction.

The project, started a year ago, is a sorely needed expansion and upgrade of the intersection, along with the construction of two bridges over Valleybrook Road and two retaining walls.
