Grove Road in Castle Shannon reopened after dumpster spill

One lane of Grove Road in Castle Shannon was reopened several hours after a large dumpster spilled on its side this morning, spilling construction materials into the road.

Borough police Chief Kenneth M. Truver said the roll-off dumpster overturned while being loaded onto a flatbed truck in the 1200 block of Grove, a main artery out of the South Hills.

No injuries were reported. 

Crews were able to right the dumpster about 8 a.m. and had to remove the rest of the debris, including lumber and other construction materials, from the road.
