A Fayette County man was killed Saturday afternoon when his car veered off of the road and struck a utility pole.

A report from state police in Uniontown said Chris D. McDonald, 54, of Markleysburg, was traveling south on Bruceton Road in Henry Clay Township, when for unknown reasons, his 1985 Chrysler went off of the right side of the road, hitting a pole and rolling over before coming to a stop on its left side.

Police said evidence at the scene indicated Mr. McDonald was not wearing a seat belt and was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash, which occurred around 2:30 p.m.
