The man who was injured in an explosion at his Brentwood home and gun shop about two weeks ago has died, the Allegheny County medical examiner's office said.

Frank Mihalovich, 69, died at 9 a.m. at UPMC Mercy, where he had been in critical condition since he sustained burns during the explosion.

On the night of the explosion, Mayor Dennis Troy said Mr. Mihalovich was a "great public servant" and founder of Brentwood Emergency Medical Service.

An update on the fire investigation was not immediately available Wednesday night.

The Allegheny County fire marshal, U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives agents and utility companies were on scene the night of the explosion.
