President Barack Obama gives his 2013 State of the Union address during a joint session of Congress on Capitol Hill in Washington.
President Barack Obama will be heading Wednesday to the Mon Valley, hoping to reinforce the themes he is expected to set out in the State of the Union address Tuesday night.
A White House spokesman said Sunday, "On Wednesday, Jan. 29, the president will travel to the U.S. Steel Irvin Plant in West Mifflin ... and deliver remarks on the economy." Final details of the trip -- involving a two-day swing through four states -- including specific times, were still being worked out late Sunday.
The president's visit is part of a four-stop tour that will begin in Prince George's County, Md., and then move on to Pittsburgh before heading to Milwaukee and Nashville, Tenn.
