Pennsylvania State Police in Uniontown arrested a man late Tuesday accused of shooting another man during a robbery Monday night at a Fayette County market.

Robert Gene Miller, 24, of Uniontown, is in the Fayette County Prison in lieu of $250,000 bail on charges of robbery, aggravated assault, recklessly endangering another person, terrorist threats and theft. State police said he was arrested at his mother's home in North Union.

Mr. Miller is accused of going into Footedale Market in German about 8:50 p.m. Monday, showing a 9-mm pistol and demanding money from two employees and the store's owner, state police said in a press release.

James E. Fisher Jr., 37, of McClellandtown, tried to confront Mr. Miller, who pointed the gun at him, state police said. As Mr. Fisher turned to leave, Mr. Miller fired a round into the back of his left leg before running away, state police said.

Mr. Fisher was treated at a Pittsburgh hospital. State police said three of the victims who’ve known Mr. Miller for years identified him as the suspect.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Tuesday.
