ART

Clairton -- The Friends of the Library is organizing its annual art show and asks local artists to call the Clairton Public Library at 412-233-7966 or leave their information at the main desk of the library at 616 Miller Ave.

Clairton -- Children from birth to 2 years old, accompanied by an adult, are invited to join in a storybook program from 11 to 11:30 a.m. every Tuesday at Clairton Public Library, 616 Miller Ave.

Whitehall -- Classes on these topics will be held from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Saturdays during January at Whitehall Public Library, 100 Borough Park Drive: 10 a.m. Jan. 4, Kindle; 10 a.m. Jan. 11, iPad; Jan. 18, downloading library books on Kindle; and Jan. 25, using an iPad to borrow eBooks and eAudiobooks. MEETINGS

Bentleyville -- The Friends of Bentleyville Public Library will meet at 6:30 p.m. Jan. 27 at the library, 931 Main St. New members are invited.

Bentleyville -- The Bentleyville Public Library book club will meet at 6 p.m. Jan. 16 at the library, 931 Main St. "The Book Club," by Mary Alice Monroe, will be discussed, and the author is scheduled to join the discussion by Skype. Contact the library to participate: 724-239-5122.

OUTDOORS

Washington County -- The Washington County Department of Parks and Recreation will accept 2014 shelter reservations for Mingo Creek, Ten Mile Creek and Cross Creek County parks from Jan. 13 to 31 in person or by application through the mail at the Parks and Recreation Office, Room 705, Washington County Courthouse Square, 100 W. Beau St., Washington, PA 15301. The office is open from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Permit applications are available at multiple locations in Washington County, or online at www.co.washington.pa.us. Baldwin Borough -- Baldwin Borough Public Library is organizing a trip March 1-2 to an indoor flower show in Philadelphia. Bentleyville -- The board of trustees of the Bentleyville Public Library will meet at 7 p.m. Thursday in the library, 931 Main St., to discuss plans for expanding the building. Interested parties are invited.

Bethel Park -- Christ United Methodist Church will offer a labyrinth and prayer station activity from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday at the church, 44 Highland Road.
