CHILDREN

CLASSES

Brentwood -- St. Peter's Episcopal Church, 4048 Brownsville Road, will host Life After Caregiving, a four-month support group series for those who have lost a loved one and had an active role in providing that person's care. Dravosburg -- The Happy Go Lucky Dance Club will offer a free introduction to Western-style square dance from 8 to 10:30 p.m. Sept. 13 at the Dravosburg No. 2 Fire Hall, 1207 Luscombe Lane. A free full lesson will be offered from 7 to 9 p.m. Sept. 19. Subsequent lessons will cost $5 per session.

Monongahela -- Nativity of the Virgin Mary Orthodox Church will hold its 15th annual Ethnicfest from 10 a.m. until dusk Sept. 28 and from noon until dusk Sept. 29 in Chess Park.

White Oak -- Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, 1128 Summit St., will sponsor a Greek food festival from noon to 7 p.m. Sunday. Information: 412-673-1224.

FUNDRAISER

Bethel Park -- The Bethel Park Lions will hold a fall fish fry, offering fried or baked fish or shrimp dinners with coleslaw, french fries or macaroni and cheese, from 4 to 7 p.m. Sept. 13 at Lions Park, 5757 Irishtown Road. Cost: $9. Takeout available. Proceeds benefit Lions charities.

Whitehall -- The Southwestern Pennsylvania Registered Nurses Club will hold its 14th annual fall card party from 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sept. 28 at South Hills Country Club, 4305 Brownsville Road. All proceeds go to the nursing scholarship fund. Admission, open to public: $25, includes lunch and door prizes. Tickets for a ticket auction and raffles will be sold at the event. MARKETS

Dormont -- A farmers market is being held from 4 to 7 p.m. each Monday through Oct. 28 at Mt. Lebanon Baptist Church parking lot, Alabama and West Liberty avenues.

Pleasant Hills -- The Pleasant Hills Lions Club is holding a farmers market from 3:30 to 7 p.m. each Thursday through Oct. 17 in the parking lot of Pleasant Hills Community Presbyterian Church, 199 Old Clairton Road.

MEETINGS

Speers -- The Washington Greene Fayette County Counselors Association will hold its first meeting of the year at 5 p.m. next Thursday at the Back Porch, 114 Speer St. The dinner is hosted by the Pittsburgh Technical Institute. OUTDOORS

Dravosburg -- The Dravosburg American Legion Post 380 will sponsor a motorcycle run starting at 10 a.m. Sept. 14 at 51 Duquesne Ave. Register at the start for $25 per driver and $15 per rider. The 80-mile ride will include two stops and will have a police escort. Proceeds benefit Operation Troop Appreciation. Rain date is Sept. 15.

Mt. Lebanon -- The Historical Society of Mount Lebanon is offering a variety of tours in September and October, including a 90-minute tour of St. Bernard's and Mt. Lebanon United Presbyterian churches at 6 p.m. Tuesday. Meet in front of St. Bernard's Church, 311 Washington Road. A 90-minute tour of Mt. Lebanon's Washington Road business district will be held at 6 p.m. Sept. 19. Meet at the History Center, 200 Lebanon Ave. A 90-minute tour of Mt. Lebanon Cemetery will begin at 1 p.m. Oct. 26. Nottingham -- The Washington County Department of Parks and Recreation will offer 50-minute group hayrides, accommodating 25 people an hour, on Fridays and Saturdays in October in Mingo Creek County Park. Hayrides will be offered from 5 to 8 p.m. Oct. 11, 18 and 25; 6 to 8 p.m. Oct. 12; and 1 to 8 p.m. Oct. 19 and 26. Cost: $50 per hayride. To reserve a time: 724-228-6867.

TALKS

Whitehall -- Chuck Finder, author of the "Steeler's Encyclopedia," will share stories about the Pittsburgh Steelers, past and present, at 7 p.m. next Thursday at the Whitehall Public Library, 100 Borough Park Drive.
