Justin K. Oliastro of South Fayette has been appointed to the board of the Nathan Ostrowski Memorial Scholarship Trust. The trust was established by Larry and Carole Ostrowski in memory of their son Nathan, who was a student-athlete at South Fayette High School and died in an auto accident in September 1995 while returning home from football practice.
A grant in the amount of $4,000 is awarded each year to a senior at the high school. Michael Fetchet is this year's winner. Mr. Oliastro, Nathan's teammate, was the first recipient in 1996.
A pharmacist and graduate of Duquesne University, Mr. Oliastro is married and the father of two sons. He is manager of the pharmacy at Target in Washington.
Jason Scibek of Bethel Park has been named chairman of the Department of Athletic Training at the John G. Rangos School of Health Sciences at Duquesne University.
Mr. Scibek, who has a doctorate, joined the School of Health Sciences faculty in 2006, and is an associate professor of athletic training, His areas of specialty include orthopedic injury evaluation, therapeutic modalities and biomechanics. His work has appeared in Current Opinions in Rheumatology, the Journal of Applied Biomechanics and the Journal of Sport Rehabilitation.
He has a bachelor's degree from Gettysburg College, master's degree from the University of North Carolina and doctorate from the University of Michigan.
