A man was shot twice shortly after midnight today in Homestead.

Borough police Chief Jeffrey DiSimone said someone fired shots between houses in the 300 block of East 12th Avenue.

A bullet struck the man in the side and another grazed his leg, the chief said.

He described the man's condition this morning as stable.

A motive remains unclear and no witnesses have come forward, the chief said. Investigators believe the man, whose name Allegheny County police would not release, was getting ready to leave after visiting a girlfriend and decided to urinate between houses before someone fired three shots.

The man said he didn't know who shot him, the chief said.

Allegheny County homicide detectives are also investigating.
