Construction on Washington Road in Mt. Lebanon scheduled to begin tonight has been postponed a week because of forecast thunderstorms.

The work will limit weekend traffic to one lane in each direction next weekend instead of beginning tonight, PennDOT announced.

During construction, southbound traffic will shift to the northbound side from Alfred Street in the business district to the Connor-Gilkeson road intersection, with one lane open both ways.

After that, traffic will be moved to the southbound side, continuing in a single-lane pattern.
