WASHINGTON COUNTY

Shredding available for confidential documents

Free shredding of unneeded confidential documents will be offered to the community from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday in the office parking lot at 1825 Washington Road.

Residents may bring documents that contain personal information, including Social Security numbers, credit card numbers and bank account numbers, such as credit card statements or applications, bank statements, canceled checks, income tax information insurance records/information, medical information and retirement/pension fund information.

State Rep. Brandon Neuman, D-Washington, is sponsoring the event. No taxpayer money is being used, he said.

FAYETTE COUNTY

Final installment of fairgrounds grant announced

The final installment of a $450,000 state grant has been awarded for improvements at the Fayette County Fairgrounds, state Rep. Peter J. Daley II, D-Fayette/Washington, has announced.

"The grant is paying for the new roof over the Chevron Outdoor Arena," Mr. Daley said. "It's also helped to pay for the construction of a facility allowing reporters and announcers to safely view and report events."

The final $50,000 has been awarded to the Fayette County Redevelopment Authority for the improvements, he said. The money is from the state's Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program, administered by the governor's Office of the Budget for the acquisition and construction of regional economic, cultural, civic and historical improvement projects, he said.

MT. LEBANON

Golfers plan fashion fundraiser

Members of the Mt. Lebanon girls golf team will model during a strolling fashion show at 4 p.m. May 19 at Oakmont Country Club, Hulton Road, Oakmont. Hors d'oeuvres, a cash bar and an auction will be part of the afternoon.

Missie Berteotti, an LPGA professional golfer and the team's assistant coach, will join teen models on the runway.
