California University of Pennsylvania today announced Edward McSheffery, former chief of the Connellsville Police Department, as its director and chief of campus police.

Mr. McSheffery has 23 years of experience in law enforcement and began his duties earlier this month.

Before becoming police chief in the Fayette County community, Mr. McSheffery also served as assistant director of safety and security at Community College of Allegheny County. He also worked for Carnegie Mellon University police as a sergeant and patrol shift leader, Cal U officials said.
