DA, county to determine if others will face charges in fatal shooting in Clairton on Tuesday

After six people were involved in a gun fight Tuesday in Clairton -- leaving a man dead, another hospitalized and one incarcerated -- more charges could be filed.

"The investigation is ongoing and at the completion we will consult with the District Attorney's office to determine what, if any charges, the other participants will face," County Homicide Lt. Andrew Schurman said in a press release today.

Terrance Moore, 34, and Richard Ford, 21, both of Clairton, were shot in the 300-block of Halcomb Avenue around 2 p.m., police said.

When Mr. Moore shot Mr. Ford in the knee, Mr. Ford -- who has a concealed carry permit -- told police that he returned fire.

Mr. Moore died at 7:44 p.m. Tuesday, and his death has been ruled a homicide by the Allegheny County Medical Examiner's office.

Mr. Ford was shot several times and is in critical condition, Lt. Schurman said.

Christian D. Riley, 20, was arrested Tuesday on charges such as attempted homicide for shooting at Mr. Ford; carrying a firearm without a license; criminal conspiracy; and charges related to the theft of a Cadillac that police said he and Mr. Moore used to drive away from the shooting.

Mr. Riley is being held at the Allegheny County Jail.
