Allegheny County homicide detectives continue to investigate a shooting that left a man in critical condition Sunday night in Clairton.

Allegheny County police Lt. Andrew Schurman said the shooting was reported at 10:25 p.m. outside of a home in the 400 block of St. Clair Avenue. Officers found a 19-year-old man shot multiple times in the face, neck, torso, buttocks and legs.

He was transported by helicopter to Allegheny General Hospital.

Despite his extensive injuries, he was able to speak with investigators, saying he was minding his own business when someone shot him.

He told them he could not see the shooter, nor could he say if they were on foot or in a car.

That account "does not coincide with what investigators learned at the scene," Lt. Schurman said.

The man was expected to survive, Lt. Schurman said.
