Man to stand trial for drunken driving, vehicular homicide in crash that killed passenger

A judge this week ordered a 19-year-old man to stand trial on charges of vehicular homicide and drunken driving in connection with a June 2013 fatal crash in Fayette County.

​State police said Ethan Kenney, of Dunbar, was intoxicated when he lost control of the pickup truck, ran off Ridge Boulevard in Dunbar and a hit guard rail June 9.

The crash resulted in the death of ​his passenger, Catherine A. Healy, 19​, of the Bear Rocks area of Bullskin.

​State police said Mr. Kenney,​​ who suffered minor injuries, left the scene after EMS arrived and before police got there. He was found a short time later, suspected to be intoxicated, state police said.

He was held for court Thursday on charges of vehicular homicide while DUI, an accident involving death, DUI and numerous traffic violations. His attorney, Samuel Davis, was not immediately available today.
