Morning temperature ties a record low

The temperature at Pittsburgh International Airport fell to 52 shortly before 6 a.m., tying the all-time record low for the date set in 1970, according to the National Weather Service.

The forecast high later today is 75, well below the normal high for the date of 83, with mostly sunny conditions.

The forecast low overnight is 53, four degrees above the record low of 49 established in 1909. Friday‘‍s forecast calls for more sunshine and a high of 80.
