The National Weather Service has issued a wind advisory for several Western Pennsylvania counties until 4 p.m. today.
The weather service reported a 46-mph gust at Arnold Palmer Regional Airport in Unity at 7:50 a.m. and a 46-mph gust in Oakland, Md., an hour later. A gust of 40 mph was reported at Venango Regional Airport in Franklin at 8:35 a.m.
Sustained winds of 20 to 30 mph and gusts up to 50 mph were forecast in Westmoreland, Fayette, Indiana, Jefferson and Forest counties.
Crawford County was under a wind advisory until 3 p.m., and a high wind warning was posted for Erie County until 3 p.m., with gusts up to 60 mph possible.
For Pittsburgh, the weather service did not issue any advisories but said the rain will be accompanied by brisk winds of 17 to 22 mph with gusts to 32 mph and a high in the upper 50s. Thunderstorms are possible this afternoon and tonight.
