Grant awarded for redevelopments in W.Va., Pa.

WELLSBURG, W.Va. — The Claude Worthington Benedum Foundation has awarded a $370,000 grant for redevelopment of 14 sites in West Virginia’s Northern Panhandle and Western Pennsylvania.

The Business Development Corp. of the Northern Panhandle and the Riverside Center for Innovation based on Pittsburgh's North Side are partnering on the projects.

The two groups announced the foundation’s three-year grant on Tuesday outside the former Brooke Glass factory in Wellsburg. The site is among those to be developed.

Seven of the sites are in Allegheny and Beaver counties in Pennsylvania.
