The Allegheny County Department of Public Works has closed Center Road in Plum because of mine subsidence underneath the road.

Jersey barriers have been erected across the road north of the main entrance to Boyce Park and south of Trestle Road, preventing through access on Center Road.

The county will issue an emergency contract to allow the department to pay for repairs and reopen the closed portion of the road.

Traffic should detour by using Saltsburg Road to Pierson Run Road to Old Frankstown Road.
