Thick, soft snowflakes begin coating the intersection of the Boulevard of the Allies and Commonwealth Place, Downtown, on Friday afternoon.
Welcome to spring. Sigh. Complete with morning snow showers.
The National Weather Service in Pittsburgh has issued a special weather statement, advising residents of counties from Mercer to Allegheny to Greene of a line of snow showers that will move across the region during the late portion of the morning.
The weather service said around 9:50 a.m. that snow showers were moving east out of the West Virginia panhandle at 30 mph that can reduce visibility to a mile or less in a short period.
