The suspect in a shooting of an Indiana University of Pennsylvania student is in jail tonight, state police said.

Eagan Minich, 29, turned himself in to state police around 4 p.m. today without incident and is being held in the Indiana County Jail tonight, awaiting arraignment, state police said.

He faces a count of attempted homicide and terroristic threats, as well as two counts of aggravated assault, according to court documents.

Police said a silver vehicle followed Hayden Warmke's vehicle from the intersection of Seventh Street and Philadelphia Avenue in Indiana Borough to the Maple Street apartment complex in nearby White about 2 a.m. Thursday.

The driver got out of the silver vehicle and approached Mr. Warmke, 20, in the parking lot, hitting him in the head and knocking him backward, state police said in a press release.

Mr. Warmke was shot in the leg and was flown by medical helicopter to Conemaugh Health System in Johnstown. State police said his injuries are not life-threatening.
