Sign work to cause delays on Route 28

Overhead sign installation will cause additional restrictions on outbound Route 28 starting tonight, PennDOT announced this afternoon.

Traffic is already limited to one lane outbound around the clock from the Chestnut Street overpass to just before the 31st Street Bridge. Single-lane traffic will be extended to the 40th Street Bridge overnight starting at 8 p.m. today through 5 a.m. Friday; from 8 p.m. Friday to 8 a.m. Saturday; from 8 p.m. Monday to 5 a.m. Tuesday; from 8 p.m. on Jan. 2 to 5 a.m. Jan. 3; and from 8 p.m. Jan. 3 to 8 a.m. Jan. 4.

The work and restrictions are weather-dependent.
