State police in Fayette County are looking for two men who robbed an 89-year-old disabled woman in Georges. The woman was awakened at 11:30 p.m. Thursday by the men, who pointed a handgun at her and demanded money and jewelry, said police.

The men cut her phone lines and removed her life alert necklace, spending “a considerable amount of time” in her home on Walnut Hill Road before leaving with her purse, according to police. The woman was able to get into her wheelchair but couldn’t call for help because of the severed phone lines. She was later found by a home health care worker, who contacted law enforcement.

Anyone with information is asked to call Trooper James Garlick at 724-439-7111.
